Are you being loved, or are you just being kept?

Sometimes, the hardest thing to accept is that someone can enjoy having you in their life without actually being intentional about you.

They call you when they need you.

They miss you when you're gone.

They don't want to lose you.

But somehow, they never really make you feel chosen.

You keep waiting for more effort.
More communication.
More consistency.
More commitment.

And whenever you ask for it, you hear:

"I'm busy."
"Give me time."
"You know I love you."

But love isn't only about what someone says they feel.

Sometimes, love is in the effort they consistently make.

It's in how they consider your feelings.
How they make room for you.
How they communicate.
How they show up, even when it's not convenient.

Because there is a big difference between someone who doesn't want to lose you and someone who genuinely wants to build a life with you.

So ask yourself honestly:

Am I being loved, or am I simply being kept around because I'm comfortable, available, and difficult to replace?

And if you were completely honest with yourself, what would your answer be?

๐Ÿ’ฌ Tell me in the comments: What is one sign that tells you someone is genuinely choosing you?
