You read the book.
You underline the sentence.
You write the plan.
You watch the video.
You take notes.
You tell yourself, “This time, I'm actually going to do it.”
Then tomorrow comes...
And somehow, you're back where you started.
It's strange how easy it is to collect knowledge and how difficult it can be to turn that knowledge into action.
We know we should start.
We know we should practice.
We know we should stop procrastinating.
We even know exactly what we're supposed to do.
So why is doing it so hard?
Maybe because knowing doesn't require much from us.
Doing does.
Doing asks us to be uncomfortable.
To be inconsistent sometimes and still continue.
To fail without immediately quitting.
To keep going when nobody is watching and there is no applause waiting.
Perhaps the gap between who we are and who we want to become isn't filled by another book, another video, or another plan.
Maybe it's filled by doing the thing we've already been told to do.
