I was not told on time that small and unnecessary expenses equals poverty and lack of savings as a student. 😩😭

Walk with me.....

As a student, I used to think my problem was not having enough money or not receiving enough allowance but the truth is, I was spending the little I had carelessly.

Walk with me....

The funniest thing is that they were not big expenses, they were so small that I could easily overlook them. Snacks I did not need, impulse purchases, buying things just because others were buying them and the list continues.

Each time I got money, I felt relieved because why not, I am a thousand richer πŸ˜‚. But before I knew it, the money was gone, and I can never clearly explain how or where it went.

Walk with me...

The painful part was times I needed money for something important such as books, transport, or school needs and I would start running around to make ends meet.

But....

That was when I discovered what my problems were ooo that my biggest financial problem was not income, it was discipline.

I learned the hard way that unnecessary spending keeps me stuck, no matter how big I earn and this is because money must be directed or it will disappear.

What changed everything for me was learning to pause before spending and asking myself: β€œDo I need this, or do I just want it?”

If you do not control your spending, your spendings will control you.Β
