Local production allowed rapid iteration. Stove height changed based on cooking posture. Burner size adjusted for common meals. Metal thickness increased where abuse was common.

Most importantly, pricing was reframed. The stove was positioned not as a moral choice, but as a savings engine. Fuel efficiency meant households bought charcoal less frequently. Over time, savings exceeded the cost of the stove.

Adoption followed immediately. Not because people became environmentalists, but because incentives aligned.

This story exposes a hard truth many development efforts avoid: behavior does not change because people are convinced. It changes because economics shift.
