I've become more selective about role prompting.
Simply writing "Act as an expert" doesn't provide much useful direction on its own.
Instead, I define the relevant expertise and connect it directly to the task.
For example:
"Act as a B2B content strategist. Analyze this LinkedIn post and identify three improvements that could make it more relevant to small-business owners."
Now the role supports the task.
I'm learning that role prompting works best when it provides relevant perspective, not when I use it as decoration.
Do you still use role-based prompts?
Does telling AI to "act as an expert" automatically improve the response?
