Yesterday, I talked about how often we should change our toothbrush.

Today, let’s talk about something else we don't always think about:

What happens to your toothbrush after you finish brushing?

Do you just leave it anywhere?
Do you put it straight inside a closed case while it is still wet?
Or do you have a particular way you store yours?

Here are a few simple things to remember:

🪥 1. Rinse it properly after brushing.
Wash off any remaining toothpaste and debris from the bristles.

🪥 2. Let it dry.
A toothbrush should be allowed to air-dry between uses. Constantly keeping a wet toothbrush in a closed container isn't ideal.

🪥 3. Store it upright if possible.
Keeping it in a position where it can dry properly is better than leaving it lying around on a wet surface.

🪥 4. Keep it clean and away from contamination.
Don't let your toothbrush touch other people's toothbrushes, dirty surfaces or anything that could contaminate it.

🪥 5. If you use a toothbrush case, keep the case clean too.
And when you're travelling, make sure the toothbrush is dry before closing it inside.

That little toothbrush spends a lot of time in our mouths, so how we care for it matters too.

I took this video of how I keep mine because honestly, I never used to think much about toothbrush storage either.
