Okay, this one sounds weird, but it’s actually true.
Your brain is the thing that helps you feel pain everywhere else in your body, but the brain itself doesn’t have pain receptors.
So when someone has brain surgery, how do doctors know where the pain is coming from? The pain usually comes from the tissues around the brain, like the scalp, blood vessels, or the membranes covering the brain.
And yes, this is also why headaches can happen even though the brain itself isn't “hurting.”
The human body is honestly strange sometimes 😂
Medical fact: The brain processes pain signals, but the brain tissue itself cannot directly sense pain.
