This might sound strange, but the blood in your body isn't all the same age. 😭

Right now, some of your blood cells are relatively new, while others have been working for days, weeks or even months.

For example, red blood cells usually live for around 120 days.

Their main job is to carry oxygen around your body. But after they've done their job for long enough, your body breaks them down and recycles useful parts of them.

Meanwhile, platelets, which help your blood clot when you get injured, usually have a much shorter lifespan.

And different types of white blood cells can live for very different amounts of time depending on what type they are and what they're doing.

So your body is constantly replacing blood cells.

While you're sleeping...

While you're eating...

While you're scrolling through Feedcover right now... 😂

Your bone marrow is busy producing new blood cells to replace the ones that have reached the end of their working life.

Think about that for a second.

Your blood isn't just one red liquid flowing around your body.

It's more like a constantly changing workforce. 😭🩸

Some cells are the new employees.

Some have been working for months.

And some are about to retire and get recycled. 😂

Quick fact: Your body continuously produces new blood cells because different blood cells have different lifespans.
