Think about how many times your body moves in a normal day.

You walk, blink, breathe, chew, swallow, type, stretch… and you don't have to consciously control every single movement.

That's because not all of your muscles are under your direct control. 👀

Some muscles, like the ones you use to move your arms and legs, are called skeletal muscles and you can usually control them when you want to.

But then there are muscles working quietly in the background.

Your heart muscle keeps contracting without you having to tell it to.

The muscles in your digestive system help move food through your gut.

Even some of the muscles involved in controlling your blood vessels work automatically.

And here's the part that's easy to overlook:

Your body is doing all of this while you're busy doing absolutely nothing about it. 😂

You're sleeping?

Your heart is still working.

You're eating?

Your digestive muscles are getting to work.

You're just sitting there reading this?

A whole bunch of muscles are still keeping things running.

It's basically like having a massive team of workers inside you who never clock out. 😭

Quick fact: Your body contains different types of muscle, including skeletal, cardiac and smooth muscle, and many of them work automatically without conscious control.
