For the longest time, I thought taking care of myself was selfish.
I felt guilty every time I rested. Guilty when I said "no." Guilty when I put my needs before everyone else's.
So I kept giving. Kept helping. Kept pushing through exhaustion.
Until one day, I realized
something important:
You cannot pour from an empty cup.
Taking care of yourself isn't selfish. It's necessary.
Rest is not laziness. Boundaries are not cruelty. Saying "no" is not a sign that you don't care.
The truth is, when you take care of yourself, you show up better for the people you love and for the life you're trying to build.
I stopped feeling guilty for protecting my peace,
prioritizing my health, and making time for myself.
And that's when everything changed.
The most powerful form of self-love is learning that your needs matter too. 💚
