The healthcare system in Nigeria is terrible.
Every day, you wake up and just pray to God that you don’t have a life-threatening emergency.
Because if you want good healthcare, it’s either ridiculously expensive or you end up dealing with quack doctors. Federal hospitals can be so lax, and then you hear the same excuse over and over again: there aren’t enough beds.
I’ve heard too many stories of people rushing their loved ones to the hospital in an emergency, only to be sent back because there were no beds.
And in 2026, only a few Nigerian hospitals actually accept health insurance.
So what exactly are we supposed to do when there’s a real emergency?
What do you think can be done about this situation? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
