I used to complain that airplane food tasted so bland and would get pissed that they charge so much just to serve tasteless food. But that was until I discovered this fact.
At high altitudes, cabin pressure and dry air reduce your sense of taste and smell by up to 30% and airlines would add more salt and pepper to the food to improve taste of the food.
So it’s basically science not bad cooking
