Have you ever noticed that you're going to the toilet more often than usual and wondered, “What is happening to me?” 😭

Frequent urination can happen for something as simple as drinking more fluids, but sometimes it can be a sign that something needs attention.

Here are 6 possible reasons:

💧 1. You’re drinking more fluids
This one sounds obvious, but drinking plenty of water or other fluids will naturally make you urinate more often.

☕ 2. You’re taking a lot of caffeine
Coffee, energy drinks, tea and some soft drinks can make you pee more because caffeine has a mild diuretic effect.

🦠 3. You may have a urinary tract infection (UTI)
Frequent urination, especially when accompanied by burning or pain when you pee, an urgent need to urinate, or lower abdominal discomfort, can happen with a UTI.

🍬 4. Your blood sugar may be high
When blood glucose is too high, the kidneys may remove some of the excess glucose through urine, which can make you urinate more and feel unusually thirsty.

🤰🏾 5. Pregnancy
Hormonal changes and increased blood flow to the kidneys can make frequent urination common during pregnancy, especially early on.

💊 6. Some medications can make you pee more
Certain medicines, especially some used to manage high blood pressure, can increase urine production.

🚩 WHEN SHOULD YOU GET CHECKED?

Don't just ignore frequent urination if it is new, persistent, or affecting your daily life, especially if you also have:

• Burning or pain when urinating
• Blood in your urine
• Fever or chills
• Severe pain in your back or side
• Excessive thirst or unexplained weight loss
• Difficulty controlling your bladder

💚 Frequent urination doesn't automatically mean something is wrong. The important thing is paying attention to other symptoms and changes in your body.

Be honest 👀: Do you think you pee more during the day or at night?
