The first time I got lost in Ikeja, it was raining and everywhere was rowdy. I thought of booking a ride on uber to my house but the price was exorbitant.

The only other option for me was to get a bus to my location and I had no ideas where the bus park was. As traumatizing as this ordeal was, it taught me the best people to ask for directions if I was ever lost and I’m going to share that with you:

1. Bus conductors: Enter any near by bus park and meet the conductor directly. He’s usually the one calling out for passengers. Don’t mind their aggressive demeanor. Just ask them for directions. They usually have vast knowledge on road networks and the locations of other bus parks. This is your surest bet.

2. Stall owners: You can enter into a stall or shop, maybe even patronize them first before asking for directions. They’re very familiar with the area and are likely to point you in the right direction.

3. Okada riders: this one is tricky because sometimes they can even make you more confused than you already are. In a situation where the first two options are unavailable, you can try asking an okada rider nearby and hope he doesn’t take you to Nasawara.

save this for when you might need it and share with your friends.
