When I first looked into visa-free countries as a Nigerian, I realized very quickly that most of the options are not the typical long-term relocation destinations people have in mind. Still, it’s useful to know where you can go without going through the stress of embassy applications.
Here’s a clear list of countries that accept Nigerian passport holders without a visa.
Africa:
Benin Republic
Burkina Faso
Cape Verde
Chad
Côte d’Ivoire
The Gambia
Ghana
Guinea
Guinea-Bissau
Liberia
Mali
Niger
Senegal
Sierra Leone
Togo
Caribbean:
Barbados
Dominica
Haiti
Saint Kitts and Nevis
Oceania:
Fiji
Micronesia
Vanuatu
Most of these countries allow short stays, usually between 30 and 90 days, and do not grant automatic permission to work or settle.
If you are planning beyond short visits, you will still need to look into proper visa options for a long-term stay.
