Whenever I need passport photos or help with typing, printing, scanning, or lamination in Ikeja, I don’t go for the fancy studios I go where the prices are friendly, and the work is solid. 😅 Over time, I’ve figured out a few spots that are easy on my wallet and still get the job done without stress:
Passport Photos
I usually head to the small, humble studios around Allen Avenue or Alausa. One place I like is Studio24 (Allen Ikeja) the guys there are chill, they take decent photos, and you don’t pay “celebrity rates.” Another good spot is around the Alausa bus stop area the studios there often give passport photos for around ₦1,500–₦2,500 if you ask nicely and don’t go during mad rush hours.
Printing, Typing & Scanning
For documents like NYSC forms, school letters, CVs, photocopies, or lamination, I usually go to the small business centres near Computer Village and Allen. They’re everywhere, and most of them will:
Print or photocopy pages for about ₦50–₦100 per sheet
Type and format documents for around ₦200–₦500
Laminate for about ₦200–₦400
One spot I often use is the printing cluster just inside Computer Village (near the bus stop) the guys there don’t try to charge you “same day premium” if you tell them you’re in a hurry. They know students don’t have deep pockets 😂.
My Money-Saving Tips
Ask for price first before they start work it avoids later surprises.
Go early in the day prices sometimes go up in the evening rush.
Bring your own USB or use your phone’s drive transferring files is faster and often cheaper.
Smile and be friendly surprisingly, it sometimes gets you a discount 😂.
For me, using these budget spots in Ikeja means I get my photos and documents quickly, I don’t overpay, and I still have money left for food and transport!
