I finally stopped by Iya Toyin’s spot in Onipanu, and one thing you should know is this place has been around for decades. Over 40 years, from what I gathered.
The setup is pretty straightforward. Just amala served with ewedu and stew. Interestingly, there’s no gbegiri here, which is something I didn’t expect.
Prices are still quite accessible. A wrap of amala goes for about ₦200. Regular meat is also around ₦200, while pomo is about ₦500. Goat meat is on the higher side at ₦5,000.
It’s one of those places where people come for consistency and tradition. The kind of spot that has built its reputation over time rather than hype.
