Most people will immediately say cheating is worse. But think about it for a second.
Can someone cheat without lying first?
Before the cheating is discovered, there are usually lies:
"I'm just with friends."
"You have nothing to worry about."
"I would never do that to you."
"You're overthinking."
The cheating hurts, but the lies make you question everything. They make you wonder whether any of the good moments were real or just another part of the deception.
On the other hand, some people believe cheating is the ultimate betrayal because it breaks trust in a way that words never can. To them, a lie can be forgiven, but giving your attention, time, and affection to someone else while in a committed relationship crosses a line that can't be undone.
Others argue that lying is actually worse because it can exist in every part of a relationship—not just around cheating. A person who constantly lies can slowly destroy trust, even if they never cheat.
So here's the question:
If you had to choose one, what's worse: CHEATING or LYING? And why?
