If you haven’t been following, here’s the gist:
A former Kuda exec took the neobank to a UK tribunal, claiming gender discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful dismissal. The case was big in the startup world because Kuda is known for championing gender balance.
The tribunal dismissed all claims, finding there wasn’t enough evidence. What I take from this is bigger than the verdict itself. Workplaces, even fast-growing startups, need fairness, clear communication, and structures that actually work.
Feedback, restructuring and tough decisions are inevitable but if your intentions and actions are fair, transparent, and grounded in integrity, you can stand by them confidently.
It also makes me wonder: how many Nigerian startups and workplaces can really say they operate like this?
