Being Nigerian has taught me resourcefulness.
I've watched people find a way when there doesn't seem to be one. Starting businesses with what they have, learning new skills, figuring things out as they go and somehow still moving.
It has taught me resilience too. Not the kind we put on motivational posters, but the everyday kind. The kind that makes you wake up, deal with whatever is in front of you and try again tomorrow.
It has taught me ambition. Nigerians dream big. We want better lives, better opportunities, better businesses and a better future.
And despite everything, people are still building, creating, learning, starting again and trying.
I think that's one of the things I appreciate most about us.
We keep finding ways to move.
So today, beyond the flags and Independence Day messages, I'm thinking about the people who keep going.
The people building something from scratch.
The people learning.
The people starting again.
The people doing their best with what they have.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria. 🇳🇬
