Title: The Scariest Night of My Life
PART 1
_______
It was a holiday period, and the streets were empty. The atmosphere was calm, and the only sound was the rustling of leaves in the gentle breeze. It was evening and I decided to step out and charge my phone at a nearby shop, eager to stay connected with friends and family.
After the phone was charged for a while, I sat close to the shop, scrolling through Facebook. My attention was focused on a post I was reading until I noticed a young man walking by. He caught my eye with his charming face and stylish attire. But what really caught my attention was when he turned back and walked towards me.
"Hi," he said, flashing his cute smile on me. I couldn't help but smile back and responded with a friendly "Hello. Good day."
The conversation started with a small talk, but quickly became more intriguing. "Do you live around here?", he asked, his eyes sparkling with curiosity.
I responded with a question, "Why do you ask?" His reply was unexpected, yet captivating. "I wish we could see again," he said, his smile growing wider.
My heart skipped a bit as I processed his words. Was this a chance encounter or something more? Does he just want to make a new friend or he have a bad motive? I decided to play it cool and responded with a casual "Of course, we'll see again."
But he wasn't satisfied with my response. "How?" he asked, his eyes locked on mine. I shrugged it off with a smile, "Just the way we just saw now."
Before I knew it, he was asking for my phone number. I hesitated for a moment, wondering if I should give it to him. But his charming smile and genuine demeanor put me at ease.
As I handed him my number, he dialed it and waited for my phone to ring. "I'll call you in an hour, around 7:30 pm. Hope you'll come out," he said, describing the venue for our meeting with his eyes sparkling with excitement.
I was taken aback by his boldness, but I couldn't deny the curiosity within me. "I don't know," I responded, trying to sound nonchalant while focusing on my phone.
But he wasn't giving up. "I promise I won't take your time," he said, his smile growing wider. "Till then," I said with no seriousness on my face.
"Sorry I didn't even ask, what's your name?", he asked just when he wanted to leave. "My name is Dorothy", I responded sluggishly with a forced smile. "I'm Dennis. Alright then. See you soon", he said and left.
But our encounter didn't end there. He called me, just around 10 minutes after we parted ways. "Please come over to the place" he said over the phone, his voice soothing and persuasive.
I was already going home when he called. I wasn't really interested in going out to see him. At least, not just like that, plus the fact that it's already dark. A part of me was telling me to oblige. Yet, I couldn't resist his charm, and I agreed to meet him. As I hung up the phone, I couldn't help but wonder what the rest of the evening had in store for me.
'Why am I having double feelings about this? Could it be a sign that I shouldn't go out to meet him? I hope this ends well', I thought to myself as I took a deep breath.
