Finding good suya na by connection sometimes. Most times someone has to “put you on” before you discover a spot that actually tastes right.

Recently, I stumbled on a place in Ikeja called University of Suya, and I honestly didn’t expect much at first.

I was just passing through Allen Avenue and decided to try it out. I bought ₦1,000 worth of suya, mostly out of curiosity.

To my surprise, it was actually really good.

The meat was well spiced, properly grilled, and not overly dry like some suya spots. You could taste the yaji properly, and the portion for ₦1,000 was fair. It’s the kind of spot you can quickly stop by for a quick evening snack.

If you enjoy suya and you’re around Ikeja, this is one of those places that might be worth trying.

University of Suya is located along Allen Avenue in Ikeja.

Directions:
 • If you’re coming from Alausa or Ikeja Under Bridge, take a keke going toward Allen Avenue.
 • Ask anyone nearby for University of Suya. The spot is well known around the area, especially in the evening when people start buying suya.

Have you tried University of Suya on Allen Avenue before?
