If somebody had told me some years ago that I would one day reduce my intake of soft drinks, snacks, and random junk stuffs willingly, I would have laughed.

Because me and snacks? Hmmmmm.

But surprisingly, for a while now, I have seriously reduced all those things. In fact, I stopped them completely, apart from Cream Crackers biscuits that still hold a special position in my heart 🫣, I barely take snacks or soft drinks again.

And honestly, I never knew I could do it until I actually did.

But yesterday, I broke my own rule 😩
Please forgive me 🤲

You know those hot afternoons when the sun is dealing with everybody equally? Your throat is dry, your body is weak, and you have just trekked under the hot sun from one place to another.

At that moment, cold water does not even sound like a solution.

Your body starts craving something sweeter. Something chilled. Something that will enter your soul and tell your village people to calm dow.

That was exactly my condition yesterday.

So I decided to buy egg roll and this particular Coke to revive my stressed life.

Now here is where the story changed...

Immediately I took the first sip, something felt very strange.

And no, I do not think it is because it has been long since I last drank Coke. This is not my first time taking it. I know the normal taste very well.

But this one?

It somehow tasted alcoholic.

I am not joking.

It felt like I was drinking something mixed with alcohol. Just as I was trying to process that, I started feeling strong heartburn and a sharp headache at the same time. My eyes were even turning me somehow.

The funny thing is that this same reaction used to happen to me whenever I tasted alcohol back then.

There was no trace of that normal chilled and refreshing Coke taste I used to know. This one felt entirely different.

At first, I thought maybe it was just my imagination, but the headache became so serious that I had to take paracetamol after getting home.

Now I am honestly curious.

Has anybody else noticed this recently?

Some time ago, I even saw someone complaining that a certain malt brand no longer tastes the way it used to.

So what is really happening?Ā

Have companies changed ingredients?
Did production methods change?
Is it because of the economy?
Are the company workers doing something wrong?
Or are my taste buds suddenly becoming spiritual?Ā

Please tell me I am not the only one who has noticed changes in the taste of some soft drinks lately.

Have you experienced this with Coke or any other drink brand before?

And before some people start saying ā€œstop drinking soft drinks,ā€ please allow me to recover from yesterday’s betrayal first šŸ˜šŸ˜‚
