Not just for posting something online… not even something small like that.
I mean in Life.
Wanting to feel ready before you start something new.
Before you change your life. Before you leave something that no longer feels right.
Before you walk away from a situation you’ve out grown. Before you begin again.
It’s like there’s always this silent expectation inside the mind…
“I’ll do it when I feel stronger.”
“I’ll leave when I feel more sure.”
“I’ll start when I feel more prepared.”
But the truth is… that “ready feeling” rarely comes the way we imagine it.
I used to believe it too. Heck I still sometimes believe it...
I used to think I needed clarity before I made decisions.
I needed peace before I walked away.
I needed confidence before I chose myself.
But life doesn’t always give you that kind of timing.
Sometimes you’re forced to move while still unsure.
Sometimes you leave while still confused.
Sometimes you start again while still carrying emotional weight from what you’re walking away from.
I’ve had moments like that.
Moments where I realized that staying was costing me more than leaving ever would.
Not because it was loud or dramatic.
But because something inside me kept feeling… empty.
Lost.
Unfed.
Like I was pouring myself into places, people, or situations that were not pouring anything back into me.
I’ve walked away from relationships I once held close.
Not just romantic ones.
Even people I looked up to.
Even someone I once considered a kind of guide or guardian in my life.
At some point, I started noticing that I was giving more than I was receiving.
Not necessarily money or material things…
But emotionally, mentally, even in growth.
There was no real pouring back into me.
No space where I was being built, corrected, or supported in a way that helped me become better.
And that realization is not always easy.
Because walking away from someone you once respected or trusted doesn’t feel simple.
It feels heavy.
It comes with guilt, with doubt, with second-guessing yourself at night.
But staying in something that slowly reduces you also has its own weight.
The kind you don’t notice immediately… until you start feeling stuck in yourself.
That’s what made me understand something slowly.
"You don’t always need to feel ready to leave."
"You just need to recognize when something is no longer aligned with who you are becoming."
And sometimes, that recognition is enough.
Not loud.
Not dramatic.
Just quiet honesty with yourself.
I won’t say it becomes easy overnight.
It doesn’t.
But I’ve learned that growth sometimes looks like walking away without having all the answers.
It looks like starting over without feeling fully healed.
It looks like choosing yourself even when it feels uncomfortable.
So when I think about the question again…
Have you ever had the thought of wanting to feel ready before you start?
I don’t just think about starting something new anymore.
I think about how many things we stay in… simply because we’re waiting to feel ready to leave.
And maybe readiness was never meant to come first.
Maybe clarity comes after courage.
Not before it.
🤍
Have you ever stayed in something longer than you should have… just because you were waiting to feel ready to let go?
