I never realized how much
social media was affecting my mental health until I started comparing my life to everyone else's.
Every day, I scrolled through perfect photos, success
stories, fitness
transformations, and happy moments. Slowly, I began
feeling like I wasn't doing enough, achieving enough, or living well enough.
What I didn't realize was that I was comparing my real life to other people's highlights.
The constant scrolling left me feeling anxious, distracted, and emotionally drained. I spent more time online and less time focusing on my own goals, relationships, and
well-being.
One day, I decided to take a break. I limited my screen time, unfollowed accounts that made me feel negative, and started spending more time on activities that brought me peace.
The change wasn't instant, but it helped. My mind felt clearer, my confidence improved, and I became more present in my daily life.
Sometimes protecting your mental health starts with
unplugging for a while.
