One thing I appreciate about the Mainland is that you don’t have to cross the third mainland bridge or spend a fortune to have a really nice outing.
I’ve tried a few places over the past couple of months, and these are the ones I’d happily recommend if your budget is around ₦30,000 or less per person.
1. Fiora Garden
📍 9 Sasegbon Street, Ikeja GRA
💳 ₦20,000–₦30,000 per person
If aesthetics matter to you, you’ll probably like Fiora Garden. The first thing I noticed was how peaceful it felt despite being in Ikeja. The outdoor garden setup is beautiful, especially in the evening when the lights come on.
The food took about 15–20 minutes to arrive, which I didn’t mind because the atmosphere made the wait enjoyable. The grilled dishes and cocktails seem to be what most people come back for. I’d recommend making a reservation if you’re visiting on a weekend because it gets busy.
2. Mint Bar & Restaurant
📍 1 Adekunle Fajuyi Way, Ikeja GRA
💳 Budget: Around ₦20,000–₦30,000 per person
Mint has a different vibe. It’s the kind of place where you can have dinner, then stay back for drinks or live music if you’re not in a hurry.
The portions are generous, and I liked that the space gives you options, from the restaurant downstairs to the rooftop. Service can be hit or miss depending on how busy they are, but the ambience is one of its biggest strengths.
3. Ilé Ìyàn
📍 Yaba
💳 Budget: ₦5,000–₦10,000 per person
Whenever I’m craving proper Nigerian food, this is one of the places that comes to mind.
The menu is contains mainly local dishes: amala, pounded yam, eba, assorted soups, and well-seasoned proteins.
4. Cafecito
📍 11 Joel Ogunnaike Street, Ikeja GRA
💳 Budget: ₦12,000–₦18,000 per person
If you like quiet cafés where you can actually have a conversation, Cafecito is worth trying.
I enjoyed how relaxed the environment was. It feels like the kind of place where you can have breakfast, work for a bit, or catch up with a friend over coffee. Their breakfast menu is reasonably priced, although I found the atmosphere more memorable than the coffee itself.
5. VSP
📍 Ikeja
💳 Budget: Under ₦30,000 per person
VSP is one of those places people recommend when you’re looking for a casual hangout without spending excessively. It’s a good option for dinner, drinks, and catching up with friends after work.
One thing I’ve learned is that a good date isn’t always about spending a lot of money. Sometimes all you need is good food, an environment where you can actually hear each other talk, and enough time to enjoy the moment.
Have you been to any of these places?
Or is there another Mainland spot under ₦30k that deserves a shout-out?
