I sat in church and looked around. It was my first time there. I looked around and took note of the caliber of people that were there. The choir sang worship songs. I really loved the atmosphere, overwhelmed by the beauty and the crowd in the church. I waited expectantly to see the senior pastor and hear his sermon. Surprisingly, a young man walked up to the altar. I wondered if he really is the senior pastor, I had wondered if he is real or fake; but when he preached, God answered the questions in my heart through him. Since then, I took his sermons seriously. That is how my christainity really began.
It did not begin in my parent’s church, going with them for service every Sunday or faithfully attending the children’s church; it began when I went to the right place. I realized that I did not just go there; God predestined it. It was in the right church I realized that I have just been following, just following without being impacted or understanding what being in church is all about.
My experience has taught me that although there are places, there are places you should be and places you should not be found in.
The place that you should be in, you cannot be there always. So there is a particular place to be in at a particular time. I sure did not stay in that church all my life; a time came, and I moved on.
My experience in that church became a foundation for my Christian journey. I learned a lot of things about Christianity, and I still do them today. From this, it is important to say that it is important to know the right place you are meant to be per time.
Being in a place does not mean being in a church alone. I used it only as an illustration. There is a place God has called each and every one of us to be in life and destiny. I learn something that keeps me in deep thought. It dawned on me that in that place there is room for me; there is a space, a gap that is meant for me to fill. Even though there are several other people there, God has ordained that place for me. There are tasks and assignments I am called to carry out in that place I have been designed and equipped for.
