A founder tells you:

"We need more leads."

So you increase the ads.

Still not enough.

"We need more content."

You start posting every day.

Still not enough.

"We need to be everywhere."

Now you're on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google...

And somehow, you're busier than ever, but growth hasn't changed much.

This is where I think marketing diagnosis matters.

Before deciding what marketing activity to increase, I'd want to know where the actual problem is.

I'd look at the journey:

Awareness: Are the right people discovering you?

Interest: Do they understand why your product matters?

Consideration: Do they trust you enough to consider buying?

Conversion: Is anything making the purchase difficult?

Retention: Are customers coming back?

Because each problem requires a different solution.

Low awareness?

Maybe you have a reach or distribution problem.

People are visiting but not buying?

Maybe it's positioning, messaging, offer, trust, or conversion.

People buy once but disappear?

Now I'm looking at product experience and retention.

The mistake is treating all of these as:

"We need more marketing."

Sometimes you don't need more activity.

You need a better diagnosis.
