In fund transfers, a few minutes can feel like hours when someone is waiting on their money.
The hardest part of a delay is rarely the delay itself. It is the silence that comes with it.

A customer calls because a transfer has not landed. You confirm the details and realise it needs further verification. You cannot always fix it immediately, but you can control how the customer experiences the wait.

Saying please wait feels different from acknowledging the wait, apologising, and promising to keep them informed. The transfer may still be pending, but now the customer knows someone is handling it.

I have watched frustrated customers calm down, not because the problem was solved, but because they finally felt heard.

A delayed transfer is a process problem. A customer who feels ignored is a trust problem, and trust is far harder to recover.
