The biggest scam Nigerians believe about hustling is…
“If you hustle hard enough, you will definitely make it.”
We hear it everywhere:
“Keep grinding.”
“Sleep less.”
“Work harder.”
“Your time will come.”
But here’s the uncomfortable truth…
Hard work alone does not guarantee success.
You can work 15 hours a day and still be going nowhere if you're working on the wrong thing.
Sometimes what you need isn't another hustle.
You need:
• Better skills
• Better information
• Better strategy
• Better opportunities
• The right people
• And sometimes… a change of direction
There are people working incredibly hard and barely surviving.
And there are people working fewer hours but earning more because their skills, market, strategy, or opportunities are different.
So maybe the question shouldn't always be:
“How hard am I working?”
Maybe it should be:
“Is what I'm doing actually taking me somewhere?”
💡 Unpopular opinion:
Being busy is not the same as making progress.
Sometimes the smartest hustle is knowing when to stop hustling blindly and start thinking differently.
