Apart from the various obvious hacks, these are some very personal hacks that have helped me navigate Lagos more easily
1. wearing crocs to work: sometimes I have to walk for longer distances to catch the bus. Wearing crocs has made walking much easier than wearing heels or office shoes. I change into my work shoes when I get to the office
2. Ask traders and bus conductors for directions: whenever I need directions, these are my surest plugs
3. Download chowdeck: chowdeck has saved me a lot of times, especially when I need a treat or I’m just too lazy or tired to cook (this isn’t a promo)
4. Always take an umbrella or raincoat: it’s the rainy season. This is self explanatory. The weather in Lagos is very unpredictable. It can be blazing hot one minute and the next there’s a heavy downpour
5. If a lot of people are gathering a particular store or vendor to buy stuff, it means the vendor sells really affordable items
These are some of the survival hacks that make living in Lagos easier for me. What’s yours? 🙃
