How many of us have decided not to try, not to do what we are supposed to do, probably because of a past experience where we tried something new and it didn't work out the way we expected?

And because of that experience, our brain recognizes a similar situation when it comes again. It remembers what happened before, puts fear in our hearts, and tells us, "Don't try. Remember what happened last time."

And because of that, we shy away.

So, to anyone out there who wants to try something new, try something big, but you're scared because you feel like you might fail, I want to encourage you: try.

Trying doesn't guarantee that you will fail, and it doesn't guarantee that you will succeed either.

Trying simply means: I have decided to do what I believe I should do, even though I don't know what the outcome will be.

And whatever the outcome is, I can still be proud of myself for trying.

Sometimes, celebrate the fact that you tried.

Maybe it's walking up to that colleague. Maybe it's building your networking skills. Maybe it's starting that business, applying for something, learning something new, speaking up, or doing something you've always wanted to do.

You might be thinking, "But what if I fail? What if I don't get what I want?"

Try.

You don't know.

It might not work out the way you want it to, but trying has its own benefit. It trains you.

The next time you encounter a similar situation, it might not feel as frightening because you've done it before. You can look at yourself and say, "I've done this before."

And even if you tried and it didn't come out as expected, that doesn't mean you should quit.

Failure doesn't have to be the end of trying. Sometimes, it is simply another part of the process.

Think about the inventors and creators whose stories we know today. Many of them tried, failed, adjusted, and tried again before they eventually achieved what they were looking for.

So sometimes, trying is what you need.

You don't know where you'll succeed.
You don't know when things will finally work out.
You don't know what one attempt might teach you.

But you do know this:

If you never try, you'll never know.

So push yourself.

Start that thing you've been wanting to start.

Give it a shot.

Try.

And even if the outcome isn't what you expected, don't forget to appreciate yourself for having the courage to try in the first place.

Trying doesn't guarantee success or failure.
It simply gives you a chance to discover what could happen. 🌱
