Growing up sounded exciting. Freedom. Independence. Doing whatever you want.
What nobody warned us about was everything that comes with it.
Nobody warned us that making friends would get harder. Not because people are bad, but because life gets busy. Schedules don’t align. Priorities shift. And suddenly, the people you once talked to every day become memories you still care about.
Nobody warned us that rest would feel unproductive. That you’d feel guilty for doing nothing—even when your body is exhausted and your mind needs a break.
Nobody warned us that you’d miss your younger self. The version of you that laughed easily, dreamed freely, and didn’t overthink every decision.
Nobody warned us that choosing a path wouldn’t feel as certain as it looked from the outside. That you’d question your choices, compare your progress, and wonder if you’re falling behind—even when you’re doing your best.
Nobody warned us that healing would be part of adulthood. Unlearning habits. Setting boundaries. Letting go of people and versions of yourself you once needed to survive.
Growing up isn’t just about becoming stronger.
It’s about becoming softer with yourself.
And maybe that’s the part we were never prepared for.#RealLife #LifeReflection
