In an incredible display of human endurance, three men survived an 11-day, 2,700-mile voyage from Nigeria to the Canary Islands, Spain sitting directly on the tiny rudder of an oil tanker.

With almost no space to move, feet dangling just feet above the freezing Atlantic waves, and suffering from severe dehydration, they somehow endured the perilous open sea until Spanish coastguards spotted and rescued them upon arrival.
