The Stories We Tell Shape Who We Become
We don't just tell stories.
Sometimes, our stories tell us who we are.
The stories we hear as children can shape how we see family, love, success, failure and even ourselves.
A story can make us believe that something is impossible.
Another can make us believe that we can try.
A story can preserve a memory that might otherwise disappear.
It can connect generations.
It can turn pain into understanding and experience into wisdom.
This is why storytelling is more than entertainment.
Every story carries an idea about life.
And every time we choose which stories to tell, we are also choosing which experiences, voices and lessons deserve to be remembered.
So perhaps the question isn't simply:
“What story are you telling?”
Perhaps the deeper question is:
“What is your story teaching you to become?”
What story has influenced the person you are today?
