Everybody wants soft life. No stress. No pressure. Aesthetic mornings, slow days, “protecting my peace.” Love that for us.
But nobody warns you about the part where soft life collides with reality like NEPA light and your last 5% battery.
Because soft life is cute… until rent clears its throat. Until data finishes mid-scroll. Until you open your bank app and start acting like it’s a prank.
Social media said, “Quit that job. Choose yourself. Heal first.”
Okay, but heal with which money?
Because my landlord does not accept self-love as payment.
You want peace but your bills are aggressive. You want rest but your responsibilities don’t know that word. You want soft life but your account balance keeps shouting, “Be serious.”
The funniest part? Most of us aren’t lazy. We’re just tired and broke at the same time. A very dangerous combo. We’re healing and hustling, resting and stressing, trying to be soft without becoming stranded.
Right now we’re in that awkward phase. Not rich, not suffering, just… managing. Calculating transport fare in our head, opening apps slowly, and pretending not to see low balance alerts.
So no, soft life isn’t a scam. It’s just incomplete without income.
Maybe the goal isn’t soft life yet. Maybe it’s stable life first.
Because peace is sweet… but peace with money?
That one will make you sleep like a baby.
— still hustling, still dreaming, still protecting my peace on a budget
