Ramadan is not only a month of fasting; it is the month in which the Holy Qur’an was first revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. This historic moment occurred during the blessed Laylat al‑Qadr, a night described in the Qur’an as better than a thousand months.

On this sacred night, the angel Jibril brought the first words of revelation while the Prophet was in the Cave of Hira Cave. This marked the beginning of divine guidance for humanity.

For Muslims in Nigeria and around the world, Ramadan is therefore a time to reconnect with the Qur’an through recitation, reflection, prayer, charity, and self-discipline.

As we fast during this blessed month, we remember the moment when divine light entered the world, guiding hearts toward faith, patience, and compassion.

Ramadan Kareem.
