The Netflix anime series has been officially canceled after just its first season, with no Season 2 coming. 

The show’s creator, Mattson Tomlin, confirmed the news on social media, explaining that although the series got strong critical and audience reactions, it didn’t attract enough viewers to justify continuing production. 

🧠 Creator’s Perspective

Tomlin said he would’ve loved to continue the story into Seasons 2 and 3 (he even wrote scripts and outlines), but the lack of viewership numbers made renewal unlikely. 

Netflix reportedly offered the chance to make a few extra episodes to wrap up loose ends, but he declined because his planned story arc extended far beyond that and he felt Season 1 concluded in a satisfying way.
