For a long time, I blamed low focus on stress, workload, and lack of motivation. But the real problem was a simple habit constantly checking my phone between tasks.
I used to switch attention every few minutes: messages, social media, quick replies, random scrolling. Each interruption felt small, but together they broke my concentration. Starting work became harder, and finishing it took longer than necessary.
When I finally changed, no phone during focused work,my output improved almost immediately. I started working in short, uninterrupted sessions and checking my phone only at set times.
The result wasn’t just more work done. My thinking became clearer, and tasks felt lighter because I stayed mentally present long enough to complete them.
Focus didn’t improve because I added something new. It improved because I removed something distracting.
What small habit might be quietly breaking your concentration?
