Being the strong one sounds like a compliment.
You’re dependable.
You handle pressure well.
You don’t break easily.
People run to you when things fall apart.
But what happens when the strong one gets tired?
When you’re always the calm voice, the problem-solver, the “I’m fine” friend, people stop checking if you actually are fine. They assume you can handle it. They assume you don’t need support. They assume you’ll bounce back like you always do.
And slowly, you start carrying things alone.
You become the listener but never the one heard.
The helper but never the one helped.
The rock for everyone else — while quietly cracking inside.
The danger of always being strong is that you forget how to be vulnerable. You feel guilty for needing reassurance. You downplay your struggles because “other people have it worse.” You convince yourself that breaking down would disappoint everyone who depends on you.
But strength isn’t silence.
Strength isn’t suffering quietly.
Strength isn’t pretending you don’t need help.
Sometimes being strong is saying, “I’m not okay.”
Sometimes it’s allowing yourself to rest.
Sometimes it’s letting someone else carry you for once.
You were never meant to be the pillar for everyone without support of your own.
Even the strong one deserves softness.
Even the strong one deserves to be checked on.
Even the strong one gets tired.
And there is nothing weak about that.#SelfLove
