“Take pride in what you have to because every moment won't last long within and for how long will you keep your ego burning?”
— Joab Peters
Sometimes we become so focused on what we want that we forget to appreciate what we already have.
We chase the next achievement, the next opportunity, the next relationship, the next level—and somewhere along the way, we fail to realize that the moment we're living in right now is temporary.
The people around you won't always be there.
The opportunities you have today may disappear tomorrow.
The things you once prayed for can become memories before you even realize it.
And that's where ego becomes dangerous.
Pride can make you refuse to apologize. Ego can make you hold grudges. Pride can make you overlook people who genuinely care about you simply because you don't want to admit that you were wrong.
But ask yourself:
How long will you keep your ego burning when time keeps moving forward?
There is nothing weak about appreciating what you have. There is nothing weak about saying “I'm sorry.” There is nothing weak about valuing people while they're still here.
Be proud of your achievements—but don't let pride prevent you from enjoying your life.
Appreciate the moment. Value the people. Let go of unnecessary ego.
Because one day, you may look back and realize that what you were too proud to appreciate was exactly what you were supposed to cherish.
