A lot of students find CGPA confusing, but it’s actually simple once you understand it.

Here’s how I do mine:

Step 1: Know your grade points

A = 5

B = 4

C = 3

D = 2

E = 1

F = 0

Step 2: Multiply grade point by course unit

Example:

- GST (2 units) → B (4) = 2 × 4 = 8

- MTH (3 units) → A (5) = 3 × 5 = 15

- PHY (3 units) → C (3) = 3 × 3 = 9

Step 3: Add everything

Total points = 8 + 15 + 9 = 32

Total units = 2 + 3 + 3 = 8

Step 4: Divide

CGPA = Total points ÷ Total units

CGPA = 32 ÷ 8 = 4.0
