👴🏽👵🏽 Our elderly loved ones need more attention not just care, but proper nutrition too.
Many older adults simply eat whatever is available or convenient, without considering how their food choices may affect their health. Yet, conditions such as dyslipidaemia (abnormal cholesterol and/or triglyceride levels) are common concerns that can increase the risk of heart and blood vessel problems.
🥗 Taking care of the elderly includes helping them make healthier food choices:
✅ More vegetables and fruits
✅ More beans and other high-fibre foods
✅ Moderate portions of healthy protein
✅ Less frequent intake of foods high in saturated and trans fats
✅ Less excessive fried and highly processed foods
✅ Regular medical check-ups and appropriate nutrition guidance
❤️ Don't wait until our parents or grandparents become seriously ill before paying attention to what they eat.
Sometimes, one of the greatest ways we can show love to our elderly loved ones is by helping them make healthier choices every day.
