If you are looking for where to buy foodstuffs more cheaply in Imo State, one of the places I always recommend from my personal experience is Orie Ogbaku Market.
Orie Ogbaku Market is a local market located in Ogbaku, inside Mbaitolu. It is one of those traditional markets that operate mainly on market days, and that is when the place becomes very lively and full of traders.
This is actually my regular market where I go to buy foodstuffs to stock my kitchen. The reason I like going there because many traders come from different villages around the area to sell their farm produce. Because the food items are brought directly from the villages and farms, the prices are usually lower compared to many markets in the city.
On market days, you will see different kinds of foodstuffs such as garri, fresh vegetables, yams, and other farm produce like firewood. Many of the people buying there are even resellers who come early to buy in bulk and take the goods back to town to sell.
Another reason I like Orie Ogbaku Market is the freshness of the products. Most of the vegetables and other items are brought directly from the farms that same day, so you are sure you are buying fresh food.
