It is sad what most people who are considered intellectuals have turned to in Nigeria today. They're more invested in cultivating hatred than investing their intellect in advancing human progress in different frontiers. This is the reason the misery index in Nigeria is quite high.

Most of the intellectuals are not addressing issues. They are not intelligently preferring solutions to issues. They are merely helping their readers and followers cultivate enmity. Most of those who consider themselves intelligent are merely cultivating hatred in the mind of simpletons against people they have personal grouse with. 

There is so much talk about intelligent discourses without commensurate output or effects. What we have more is hatred and anger. That can't be the effect of intellectuality. 

Much of what you have is manipulative incitements to hatred and anger. Real intellectuals desire others to think factually, logically and rationally.
