Another blackout, same story.
Nigeria’s power grid collapsed again after generation dropped sharply, leaving millions in the dark. DisCos reportedly received just 50MW at first, creeping up to 415MW by evening. This makes it at least the 6th grid failure in 2025 and over 100 collapses in the last decade.
Homes, businesses, and even hospitals are back on generators, while officials admit these failures will keep happening without billion-dollar upgrades. At this point, darkness feels less like an accident and more like the system’s default setting.
