New Semester, New Me.

At the beginning of the semester, I made a promise to myself: I wanted things to be different. I didn't want to keep depending on family members for money whenever I needed something.

At first, I thought about starting a gift package business. It sounded like a good idea until lectures resumed. I kept seeing students carrying perfumes, snacks, gift items, and all sorts of products around campus every day. I knew myself immediately—I wasn't built for walking around campus carrying goods from hostel to hostel.

So I asked myself, "What can I do with the skills I already have?"

Since I already knew how to use a laptop, I decided to look for something I could do online.

Around December, one of my friends told me about a guy who had just made two sales in digital marketing and earned over $13. It wasn't a huge amount, but it caught my attention. I collected his contact and messaged him. He explained everything to me.

To be honest, I was very skeptical. I wasn't the kind of person who trusted anything that involved sending money online. So instead of rushing in, I simply watched him. Every few days, I'd see him celebrating another sale, then another.

By January, after my aunt's wedding, I had managed to save a little money. I used ₦8,000 from it to register. Funny enough, that's still the same registration fee today.

I was excited... but after almost two weeks, I hadn't made a single sale.

I got discouraged and completely abandoned it.

A few months later, around March and April, I became broke. One evening while scrolling through TikTok, I saw someone talking about how digital marketing was paying her bills. Out of curiosity, I logged back into my account, hoping maybe something had magically changed.

It hadn't.

My balance was still exactly where I left it—₦0.

Then I noticed a button that said "Join the Affiliate Community."

I joined.

That same night, someone posted, "I'm grateful. This is my third sale this week."

Without thinking twice, I sent her a message.

I simply said, "Please help me. I'm new to this and I honestly don't know what I'm doing."

I expected her to tell me to pay for coaching.

The funny part was... I didn't even have money to pay.

She asked for my name.

I replied, "Muna."

She laughed and said her name was Muna too. Then she told me not to worry—since we shared the same name, she'd guide me for free.

That simple act of kindness changed everything.

I started learning properly. I made mistakes, improved, stayed consistent, and little by little, the results started coming.

Today, I make around ₦100,000 in a good month from digital marketing.

Is it millions? No.

But for someone who started with zero knowledge, zero sales, and almost gave up completely, it's a reminder that consistency pays.

I'm genuinely grateful I found digital marketing. I know there's still so much more to learn, and I'm confident I can grow beyond where I am today.

For now, though, my priority is balancing my business with my studies.

This journey reminded me that sometimes all it takes is one decision, one helpful stranger, and one more chance before everything begins to change.
