I find it very interesting that Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) still gathered for a protest after meeting with the President the night before.
It’s not really about one meeting or one protest; it’s about the feeling that insecurity has become normalised, while reassurances keep sounding the same.
Seeing union leaders, activists, and heavy security presence in one place reminds you how fragile trust is right now. People aren’t protesting because they love chanting on the streets, they’re there because waiting quietly hasn’t felt solved anything for a long time.
