During my National Youth Service year, I met a Corp member. He was the CLO Chief Liaison Officer and the General Secretary of the NCCF National Christian Corpers Fellowship.
On day he talked about his background and said that in his family no one allocate house chores to anyone, you look around for something to do. Whenever you see anything that needs to be done that you can do you go ahead and do it. For this reason, things were done in their house promptly. Before that day. I observed that whenever the living room was not swept by the ladies, he gets the broom and sweeps it himself. He volunteers to handle the cooking when the ladies could not meet up, and they will be late for their PPA Place of primary assignment. In fact, he takes the food to each corper in their PPAs. Since then, if I was not busy with another house chore or task and I see something that needs to be done that I can do, I go ahead and do it.
Contrary to this way of life I was brought up in a house where the chores were shared and if you finish your task you are done; so many things will be left unattended to until someone volunteers to take the initiative and do it.
