Does Being 17 with Big Dreams Make Me Overambitious?
"You're just 17."
"Face your books."
"Study Medicine or Law."
"Every other course doesn't matter."
I've heard it more times than I can count.
But what if my dreams are bigger than the path people have already chosen for me?
What if I want to build something, create opportunities, solve problems, and still succeed on my own terms?
There's nothing wrong with becoming a doctor or a lawyer. They're honorable professions.
But success isn't reserved for only two careers.
At 17, I'm not asking for permission to dream. I'm choosing to work for those dreams.
Maybe the real question isn't whether I'm overambitious.
Maybe it's whether we've become too comfortable putting limits on young people's potential, but who am I to challenge Mama Joy ?
